Castor Oil Cure All
According to the National Institutes of Health, castor oil can enhance the “smoothness and softening” of the skin and can also promote “an increase in healthy pores and skin tissue through moisturizing, hydrating, and cleansing.”
You may have heard about the benefits of castor oil - hair growth , skincare - we can even use a castor oil pack over our liver in order to draw out impurities to help assist in detoxification.
I’m going to describe for you how I have personally used and experienced the incredible benefits of castor oil in terms of skincare, because in my honest experience, I am truly amazed at how the nighttime application of my own castor oil concoction has truly managed to eradicate that most perplexing “crepey” skin appearance on the arms. Something I could never achieve using ordinary, store-bought creams and lotions.
The real healing occurred at the six month mark (with nightly use), although I was well and truly sold on its emollient capabilities in as little as two weeks with constant usage.
After my experience, I am certain that if a person used my exact recipe from say, their 30’s - they would never have to experience any loss of skin elasticity at all.
Unfortunately, many women are still suckers for the pretty packaging and perfumed body lotions promising hope in their bottles , but actually delivering nothing more than draining your purse.
And that is not what I saw from my magical castor oil concoction - I noticed my skin becoming truly more hydrated (at about the two week mark) and then it just became less crepey , gradually over a six month experimental period.
I’d say my “crepe” factor was low to moderate to begin with - so for anyone just starting to notice it - lucky you!
I must also remind you to really rub it in and pay attention to any areas troubling you with inflammation of any kind, because it contains ricinoleic acid, (a potent anti-inflammatory) and helps to soothe conditions like arthritis and other skin issues caused by inflammation.
The other wonderful benefit of castor oil, is it’s ability to help stimulate hair growth. And so using it on scalp is extremely useful in the fight against hair loss. After applying it on the face, it’s so easy to also use it on eyelashes and eyebrows as well. No need to buy an expensive eyelash serum- just use the back of a finger and brush upward onto eyelash, being careful not to get into the eye.
Although reports of castor oil being used on the eyelid (only a small dot), as a method of treating blepharitis, or inflammation of the eyelid have now been confirmed by researchers based in New Zealand who recently finished a pilot trial on a natural treatment for dry eye disease.
Dry eye disease, also called keratoconjunctivitis sicca, affects millions of people and can affect vision and quality of life. The trial involved applying castor oil to the eyelids for a period of four weeks.
