Mirrors Mirrors Everywhere
Even if we’re not standing in front of an actual mirror, those reflective surfaces are pretty much everywhere aren’t they? Even a switched off phone is a mirror, have you noticed that?
You’re minding your own business and then you go to pick up your phone. Seems innocent enough, but then in its basic black reflection you catch sight of some aspect of your face, an angle that is most unflattering and all at once your precious peace seems to have completely vanished.
Now you’re checking out all those other “things”… Come on now, you know exactly what I’m talking about, those thousand and one discrepancies occurring at the facial real estate level.
Take heart. This is the age we live in. The microscope has never been so powerful.
The truth is though, the real YOU is not the imperfect physical image. You might understand that intellectually, however your unreasoning “animal”, physical self most likely doesn’t.
The subconscious, childlike part of you can have very powerful visceral reactions based on the sensory perception.
It’s not the real you, the perfect soul. It’s not.
Cast down that thought and take time to reflect on the image of perfection within. We were created in and through and by perfection itself. And if we forget that for a time, we can always choose to remember that again. Or we can choose to remain lost in an illusory world of images. Mirrors are everywhere. Don’t fall in like Narcissus.
If you have already, it’s OK. Just start drying off.
